I tapped into my love for art and design to create the custom Girl Scout themed chess pieces. It was great to use my artistic side in a real-world project, especially since I’m planning to study industrial design in college.

Each of the chess pieces have a different Girl Scout symbol

• Pawns have Daisy symbol

• Rooks have Trefoil symbol

• Knights have Sash

• Bishops have World Trefoil symbol

• Kings have Brownie wings and Bridge arc

• Queens have Gold Award symbol and string of pearls to represent the necklace Juliette Gordon Low sold to start Girl Scouts

I used Krita to digitally draw the pieces as vectors and then exported them into Carbide Create, which is a CAD 3D software for use with CNC Routers. Bonus chessboard jig (wooden border with string grid) is included - makes painting a perfectly sized 10' 3" chessboard with border very easy.
